My Favorite Things

Everyone has a favorite thing. (Not necessarily my favorite thing:) )

William loves his MP3 player. He's giving his daddy a run for his money in the technology department. "Just give it to me" "I'll do it". He already wants to put all new music on it.

Afton is the baker. Truly all she wanted was an easy bake oven. Now we just need to bake.

Cruz loves his Nerf gun. (Just because the other boys do) That's o.k. too. He loves his Star Wars guys. Everywhere I go, Star Wars!!

Here are the music girls. I love them a lot. We're just working on the "joyful" noise is just to the Lord and not to the whole family. Does High School Musical count as a "joyful noise"? Happy are they all. That's a happy home. We hope all of your Christmas was a time of joy with your families. May God Bless all of you this next year.

Here's Decemeber......
William turned 10! These books are going to make us RICH!!! (Just kidding.) These are computer game programming books. What geeks:)

AND....

More Cup Stacking. William was very disappointed when Brooks got his cups for his birthday. He finally got his own. This make our house a much more peaceful place to live. Now the race is on!

Christmas Program Time
From L to R:
Zinnah, Afton, Kolu, William and last but certainly not least Brooks.
They sang their hearts out. They had been practicing for weeks and it paid off. Good job you five.

Patience loved watching her siblings.

She'll have a band concert in January. We just can't wait ;)

And here's the entertainment after the show.

CRUZ!

After sitting so patiently and sweetly for everyone else's things, he finally had a "Program" of his own at his 3 day a week preschool.

His Class were Shepherds. Isn't he sweet? Mommy made his costume all by herself. Thank God for Goodwill.

I think he's more angelic than a shepherd though: Hmm......

NOT!!!

But he still did a GREAT job!!
He loved having everyone come to his school and watch him and him alone. It's about time.

O.k., o.k. everybody is hounding me to update. Bill even went as far as to start outlining all the things I could be blogging about. I looked at him with one of my sweetest smiles (full of love, of course) and said "Sweetheart it's not that I can't think of anything to blog about, I just don't get it done". So here is Nov. 2007 in a nutshell. :)

William (and his team. the Weddington Titans, Jr. PeeWee :)) took 2nd in the Weddington Titan Bowl. Way to go boys!!!! It was a great season.

Brooks was chose at the Narrator in his Thanksgiving Day play. His play was on Tuesday, and low and behold on Sun. I noticed he had pink eye. We had to run (not really) to CVS's minute clinic so we could start getting eye drops in. He wasn't willing to miss his play that he had been working so hard on. Go figure! He read 2 pages perfectly (slowly and loud enough) for everyone to hear. After that we couldn't even count how many people came up to us and to the principal to ask what grade he was in. "Is he in 2nd grade?" was the most common guess they had. No, he's our favorite Kindergartner.!!! Good job bud.

Afton has been saving money since last Christmas and finally decided to make a purchase. Of course it was something that wasn't on our favorite list but she had thought long (and long and long) and hard about. So she bought a gingerbread house decorating kit. Here she is getting the walls stuck together.

Ta Da!! Here's the finished product. She had a great time decorating by herself. And shortly after this the infamous question began........"Can I eat it?" Go for it was all we could say. Bill finally told her "It might have been cheaper just to buy a box of graham crackers and a couple sacks of candy". "And miss all this mess?" "NO WAY!!"

This Thanksgiving was very special. In fact 6 years ago on Nov. 22nd it was Thanksgiving Day and I was in the hospital giving birth to a beautiful baby boy, Brooks. He is such a hoot. When he smiles he makes me laugh. Here's his birthday cake that Daddy baked and decorated this year. Good job!

He also got the two things he wanted most: 1. Lego Star Wars II AND

2. Cup Stacking!! He was sooo surprised. It's been cup stacking mania ever since.

So there's to November 2007:)

My Mother-in-Law

This is my mother in law, Kathleen. We were putting together a heritage project for Patience this weekend and they were sending us pictures so we could complete the family tree with pictures. There aren't very many pictures taken of her so it was very hard finding one until they sent this one. I love it! Kati, this is a great picture of you (Very Beautiful). It's been a year since my thyroid cancer and the two months that she stayed with my family keeping them going. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate you so much. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for giving me your son. He's a gift that you created and wrapped for me. I love you. Happy Thanksgiving!

This is one of my 12 year old daughters from Africa. She's just chilling. We just recently were contacted by her cousin from Africa. she has been adopted by a family in Tennessee. This is a cousin that she has prayed for and been concerned about since she came two years ago. What a blessing to know that she is safe and loved. Zinnah is very happy:)

Fall Festival

Today was Cruz's Fall Festival at Preschool. What fun we both had. This is the pumpkin that he picked and decorated.
Bobbing for apples was a treat. Nobody wanted to stick their head in the cold water. Cruz went right to the job. Got his head in the water, found a stem and up he came with the apple in his mouth.

Geocaching

On Sunday, we spent about 4 hours geocaching. Geocaching is "treasure finding" with a hand held GPS. You put the coordinates in your GPS and walk around getting closer and closer to the treasure. Then you have to find where someone has hidden the treasure. There's just small trinkets in a container that you're welcome to take as long as you leave something. Really cool for the kids, and I must admit, me. Bill laughed and said there's no way I could've gotten you out here walking around for 4 hours just to be out here. He's right. But I had a blast. The kids were terrific. We found 5 treasures and only a couple of melt downs. We had a great Day!

Game Day

Think you can catch some ZZZZZZZZZZ's in our family? HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Daddy told Cruz to wake us up at 6:30 this morning. He enjoyed it a little too much.

Patience had to be at cheerleading camp by 9 and Afton had a softball game on the other side of town that we had to be at by 10:15. Afton lost her game 6-9, but scored a run for the first time. She was tough, on the second pitch she got nailed in the stomach. but she got back up and got a really good hit. Tonight I have a football game, I'll report to you about that later.

Hello from William Apodaca

Hello my name is William Apodaca. I am posting for my mom on this blog. Today is Oct. 9th 2007. Today my sisters, Zinnah(12),Patience(12),Kolu(9),& Afton(7) and me, William (9) and my brother Brooks(5) had school. Cruz(4) had preschool at Southbrook Community Church (http://www.southbrookchurch.com/). Right now we're making dinner and things get crazy around here. Six kids doing homework, dinner, and getting ready for bed can be kind of hectic.

Tonight for dinner we're having:
Pork Loin on the Grill
Sliced Potates baked in the oven
Some kind of vegetable

With God All Things Are Possible.
