Reindeer Brooks

This is my most awesome reading, writing, and arithmetic reindeer. He makes Santa proud. Who can't just fall in love with my googly moogly boy? Brooks is a treasure. I know he'll do great things someday! I just love that face.

Below is a picture of my 4 lower campus kids at their Christmas program. I hope you all have a great weekend. Take time to love on your families and let something slide that you wouldn't normally.

Looks Good

Many of you know that I had thyroid cancer 2 years ago. They removed my thyroid and my lymph nodes on the right side of my neck. Everything went well during surgery. They removed all of the cancer and that began my quarterly, yearly Dr. visits. This year my Dr. wanted to do an ultrasound to get a base line for further years. I went yesterday to have my ultrasound and the Dr.'s office called this morning with GREAT news. Everything looked great and he'll continue to monitor me. See you in six months. I'm thankful for the good news. I love my family and I'm looking forward to spending lots more time with them.

Santa's Elf

Doesn't he look like a fun loving, happy, jolly elf? Well Cruz did a great job at his first Christmas concert in kindergarten. He's not quite as outgoing as his brothers and sisters but he dressed like an elf and sang his little heart out. He's my special elf.

Patience was abducted! I mean Inducted :)

Patience was inducted into the Jr. Beta Club this weekend. Based on her grades being at a 93% overall, she earned this honor. She constantly has to work hard on her school work. Nothing comes "easy" to her. Bill & I comment all the time how easy school was for us. Neither one of us really had to study to make great grades. Patience has to work very hard and she does. This was a great honor for her. Keep at it girl!

Little Drummer Boy?

Little Drummer Boy? or Girl? Both at our house. Patience & William both play drums at school. William is in the beginner band in 5th grade and Patience is in the Intermediate band in 6th grade. They had a band concert last night and it was lots of fun to see the two of them up there doing their best. They each played lots of different instruments (i.e. bass drum, bells, snare drum, and other things I don't know the names of). They both did a great job and we are very proud of them.

Penguins, Penguins Everywhere!

This is Kolu. Isn't she a cute penguin? She enjoyed singing in the concert. She's constantly working on pronouncing her words and speaking clearly. This will always be a struggle for her but for now she's doing good. She's also doing great at school (right now). She stopped trying to do well at school but after a great meeting of teachers, principal and Bill & I we've got her back on track. It helps for her to know that she can NOT go back to 2nd grade and she WILL have to do her work. When all those details are clear in your head, it's an easy decision to do your school work :). I love me daughter!

Christmas Again!

O.k. I didn't post any pictures at Christmas so now I'm going to go back so you can see what happened to us in December. See Santa above? Which of my children do you think it is? Brooks? No. Cruz? No. William? No Why it's my sweet little Afton. Afton was Santa for the third grade Christmas program. In the picture are two of her favorite friends, Hailey and Jessie. During the program she got so hot that she ripped her beard off and people were shocked to find out Santa was a "girl". She did a great job. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Snow, Snow, Snow!!!

We had our first snow day today in North Carolina. This is all the snow we got but they cancelled school anyway. (Some of you might think that's funny :) ) The roads do get slippery and icy and they don't have the equipment like they do in Wyoming to clear and De-ice the roads. It's still a hoot to listen to the news telling people they need to stock up on milk and bread. The kids had a great time playing in the snow. I definitely don't miss it but they were begging and begging to play in it. Strange, I know.
Cruz was very proud of himself making this snow angel. I was rather impressed that he knew how to given that we don't have snow but once a year.

They all had fun playing in the snow and having snow ball fights. Back to school tomorrow (I hope :) )
