Patience's Heart Isn't Broken

In preparation for volleyball tryouts, the Dr. giving Patience her physical said she heard a heart murmur. The nurse at the school confirmed that she could hear a "significant" heart murmur. Trying to explain to Patience what a heart murmur is or could be was scaring her to death. I made an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist and didn't tell her until this morning when we were on our way. She fretted and fretted the entire way there asking 101 questions. I love the Dr. He was fantastic! If you're in this area and are in need of a pediatric cardiologist let me know and I'll give you his name. They did an EKG which was fine. He listened to her heart in every position possible and said that her "pipes" were just very efficient. He went ahead and did an ultra-sound which proved that she had a very healthy heart. Patience was in awe of being able to see her heart on the computer screen. We got to see all of her valves whooshing in and out as her heart beat. It was awesome seeing her heart. She was very relieved to find out that she's quite healthy and wasn't going to have surgery or die.....She's very dramatic!
