Only thing tougher than a wrestler....a wrestler's mom!
I'm sure his father would disagree with the title :)....William did a phenomenal job last night at his first wrestling match. He had to wrestle up at 112 (he wrestles 103) and he wrestled a boy with 2 years experience so he could wrestle in the main match (I'm sure I'm getting the "correct" terms wrong). But he gave it everything! He got pinned and that bummed him but he is ready to learn and get back ! Way to go babe!

Laces!!
Those are softball laces and a bruise only moments after being pelted with a whizzing fast pitched softball. Now, I bought gear so that I could avoid bruises such as these. "Please Mommy, please, please just pitch with me while we wait for practice." And NO I didn't bring my shin guards.....I guess that's why I now have laces and a bruise on my shin. :)

Patience's Heart Isn't Broken
In preparation for volleyball tryouts, the Dr. giving Patience her physical said she heard a heart murmur. The nurse at the school confirmed that she could hear a "significant" heart murmur. Trying to explain to Patience what a heart murmur is or could be was scaring her to death. I made an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist and didn't tell her until this morning when we were on our way. She fretted and fretted the entire way there asking 101 questions. I love the Dr. He was fantastic! If you're in this area and are in need of a pediatric cardiologist let me know and I'll give you his name. They did an EKG which was fine. He listened to her heart in every position possible and said that her "pipes" were just very efficient. He went ahead and did an ultra-sound which proved that she had a very healthy heart. Patience was in awe of being able to see her heart on the computer screen. We got to see all of her valves whooshing in and out as her heart beat. It was awesome seeing her heart. She was very relieved to find out that she's quite healthy and wasn't going to have surgery or die.....She's very dramatic!

Brooks Got Contacts
It only took a couple of days (which at the office I didn't think would ever happen) for him to get them in and out all by himself. Because he can't see he doesn't even look in the mirror to see what he's doing....crazy kid. No more fogged up glasses at football and lacrosse, Yeah!! He's so happy to not have to wear glasses.
